Taoziba Fm

Central Sichuan (Leshan). The Taoziba Fm was named by Yang Xianhe in 1976. The naming section is in Lanbaoping along Jinkouhe, Ebian County, Sichuan Province. Lowermost formation in Ebian Gr.

Synonym: （桃子坝组）

Lower part of the formation, 1730 m thick, is composed of black, dark-grey slate, intercalated with carbonaceous slate and platy limestone lenses, and with interbeds of greyish to grey-green andesitic agglomerate and tuff in the upper interval. Upper part of the formation, 1080 m thick, is black platy limestone and dolomite, sandwiched with slate and locally chert bands; and replaced upward by dark-purple, purple-grey and grey-green, dark-grey vesicular, amygdaloidal compact and porphyritic altered basalt, basaltic dacitic tuff and purple basaltic volcanic breccia.
